Welcome to Central Academy
Central Academy was established in 1985 by the Des Moines School District. The Academy is a program dedicated to providing a challenging, fast-paced academic curriculum for students with exceptional abilities.
Central Academy is an extension of all Central Iowa schools. It is designed to foster academic excellence through the challenge of a compacted curriculum and the stimulation of intensive work with the students' intellectual peers. Students who complete the program are prepared for the competitive demands of top colleges and universities.
In 2008, Central Academy became Iowa's first school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This program along with Advanced Placement classes provide countless opportunities for Central Iowa students to excel.

Tuesday, March 9th, 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Wednesday, March 10th, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Thursday, March 11th, 9:00 am to 1:15 pm
Conferences will be held at the 1800 Grand building.
Notice this schedule may be different from your child’s home school conference schedule. We have adjusted times in order to give parents and students more options and flexibility to participate in conferences at more than one location.
There will be early dismissal on March 10th and no school for students March 11th through March 19th.

Math Students Win Awards
Advanced math students recently traveled to
the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to compete in the 37th Annual High School Mathematics Contest.
